Unkillable weeds, Unkillable viruses.
The Guardian has posted a story about gene-enhanced weeds that are resistant to herbicide (although the short description on the article says “pesticide”, which is noticibly wrong) poses another question, gene-enhanced bugs, or anything.
Government testing of genetics editing is obvousily out of control, I’m not a “sky is falling” kind of person, but this is scary. What else has been tested and released? Could SARS and West Nile really have developed their deadliness all by themselves? With ongoing testing of plage/black death and many other viruses in labs, is it not unreasonable to assume that these could combine with the ordinary cold too become a modern killer?
This latest announcement shows that lab experiments do escape, just what will escape next?
