No shortage of good advice!

October 17th, 2008

One of the things I love about Drupal (and it’s a pretty long list of things I love, believe me!) is how much great doucmentation, tips and expression of creativity is always happening in the community.  It’s one of the reasons a lot of my posts cite so many source; there is just so much good stuff out there.

Now, I’m not saying that other tools don’t have this active of a community; but the mix just feels “right” with Drupal.  Dave’s post on upgrading Drupal Core With Vendor Branches and svn_load_dirs is a perfect example of this; someone who solves a problem sharing their results for the benefit of others.  The ideal of open source :)

There is also a great little advice snippet that I’ll be testing out sometime soon: Mikkel Høgh’s post on Drupal and Varnish (more on Varnish).  My ponder?  Just how much bang for buck can you squeeze out of a $7/mth VPS?  Since I already have a cheap VPS, I’m going to give it a try :)

Lastly, as a public service warning to all Drupal Planet readers.  DO NOT FEED THE TROLL.

See you around!
