Flock is gone…long live flock?

December 31st, 2005

I think Christ Messina finally did one interview too many…yup…he’s lost his marbles. (sub-link)

Of course, this was predicted months ago when he became the official “hand waver” at CivicSpace :P

Gossip, the perfect gift this Christmas

December 24th, 2005

It seems the perfect gift this Christmas is gossip. Poor Opera has been rumored to be bought so many times to be humorus. Like this quote from OperaWatch:

Given the recent surge in acquisition rumors (first Google, and now Microsoft), I thought it would be nice to see which company Opera Watch readers think will be in the next rumor claiming that it will purchase Opera.

  • Apple (Appera)
  • Nokia (Nopera)
  • McDonald’s (McDopera)
  • Other

Vote here.

Oddly enough, McDonald’s is voted top. Who’d a thunk it?

UPDATE:

Seems there has been progress, Opera has bought Opera!  Who would have thought! ;)

Analysts value the deal at 42 liters of hot air, the estimated net worth of the blogosphere’s journalistic abilities.

Mixed up messes

December 15th, 2005

The web is full of mixed up messes and messages. Take this story from the highly gossipy techwhack (who might deserve a wack), and the counter story from the countering Opera Watchers.

It demonstrates just how far people will go just to get some publicity. The “I want to get slashdotted” syndrome.

Seen some more examples? Post them here!
